Good to know
Frequently asked.
A few things worth knowing before you book. Anything else, just message us.
Which cabin is right for our group?
Camp Alta sleeps 2 — perfect for couples who want a stargazing tiny cabin. Camp Alpine sleeps 4 and walks to town. Camp Gifford and Camp Pinchot both sleep 5 — the A-frames, our flagships, with private hot tubs and sauna access. Basecamp sleeps 8 with 2 bedrooms plus a loft — the family-and-friends option.
Use the filters above to narrow down, or message us and we’ll help you pick.
What’s included in every stay?
Private hot tub, full kitchen (stocked with coffee, oils, and the basics), Sonos sound system, fast Wi-Fi, EV charger, fresh linens and towels, and a stocked bath. Basecamp, Camp Gifford, and Camp Pinchot also have access to the cedar sauna at Camp Commons.
What are check-in and check-out times?
Check-in: 3:00 PM.
Check-out: 11:00 AM.
Early check-in or late check-out is sometimes possible depending on turnover — message us before your stay and we’ll do our best.
What’s your cancellation policy?
14+ days before check-in: full refund, no questions asked.
Within 14 days of check-in: partial refund. Message us — we’re reasonable people, especially in edge cases (weather, illness, family emergencies).
Are the cabins pet-friendly?
Four of the five cabins welcome dogs: Basecamp, Camp Gifford, Camp Pinchot, and Camp Alpine. Two dogs per stay is standard, with an additional pet fee.
Bringing more than two? Message us before booking — we’re usually happy to accommodate with an adjusted fee.
Camp Alta is not pet-friendly — it’s our lofted tiny cabin, and it’s the one exception.
Tell me about the sauna.
It’s an 8-person cedar sauna at Camp Commons, shared between Basecamp, Camp Gifford, and Camp Pinchot. Guests reserve 90-minute private windows through a form we send at check-in.
There’s also an outdoor shower with hot and cold water right next to it — the plunge that follows the sweat. A fire pit for the cool-down.
Camp Alpine and Camp Alta stays don’t include sauna access.
Do you offer discounts for longer stays?
Yes — a slight discount kicks in on stays of 7 nights or more, applied automatically at booking. Longer stays (2+ weeks) may qualify for additional adjustments; message us to discuss.
Booking direct also saves you the platform service fees compared to Airbnb or Vrbo.
What’s cell service and Wi-Fi like?
Wi-Fi: Fast, reliable, and in every cabin. Work-from-cabin friendly. Stream, video call, and remote-work with no issues.
Cell service: Great service in Packwood. Spotty outside of town, especially deep in the park. Download offline AllTrails maps and Google Maps for the areas you plan to explore, and you’re set.
How far is Mount Rainier? White Pass?
Mount Rainier NP (Stevens Canyon entrance): ~15-20 minutes.
White Pass Ski Resort: ~20 minutes up Highway 12.
Downtown Packwood: 5 minutes (or walking distance from Camp Alpine).
See our Adventure Awaits page for the full map and current conditions.
Is there an EV charger?
Yes — every cabin has a Level 2 EV charger with a J1772 connector (works with most EVs and any Tesla using the standard adapter).
Where do we buy groceries?
Packwood has a small mercantile for the basics. For a full grocery run, we recommend stopping in Yakima (from the east) or Enumclaw / Puyallup (from the north) — both about 45 minutes out and worth the stop for a well-stocked kitchen.
Camp Provisions on-site has wine and camp merch — the settle-in extras, not a full grocery. Save room for a bottle to open by the fire.
